MG Gloster: MG Gloster unveiled, pre-bookings start for Rs 1 lakh – Times of India


NEW DELHI: Morris Garages India on Friday unveiled the Gloster SUV, which is slated for launch during Diwali.
Gloster, which is globally known as Maxus D90 LVD, can be booked against a token of Rs 1 lakh.
Gloster SUV, SAIC-backed MG’s fourth product in the Indian market, was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 and the car is expected to be priced around Rs 32 lakh – 40 lakh (ex-showroom).
The three-row SUV, which stands over 5 metres in length, is dimensionally bigger than Toyota Fortuner and other rivals in the segment. The massive stance of the Gloster is complimented by 12-spoke alloys on 19-inch rims.
Inside the Gloster, you get a 12.3-inch infotainment system (70+ connected car features) powered by MG’s iSmart 2.0 technology. The interior is wrapped brown leather while creature comforts in 12-speaker system, 64 ambient lighting, 8-inch digi-analog driver’s display, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof and middle row captain seats.
Under the hood is a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, which delivers 218 PS and 480 Nm of peak torque while paired with 8-speed automatic transmission. The lower variants, however, will feature a detuned engine.
MG bets on an adventure driving with the Gloster, offering on-demand 4X4, various levels of traction control, multiple drive modes (7) in the top variants. And rear-wheel electro-mechanical differential lock.
The MG Gloster comes with first-in-segment Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)*. Some of its pioneering features include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and Automatic Parking Assist amongst others like Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD).
